The main route to the park is via Interstate 94 to Valley City exit #292. Follow the signs through Valley City and turn left onto County Rd 19 for 10 miles.
The Mel Rieman Campground and Recreation Area is located on 70 Acres along the shores of Lake Ashtabula just west of the Baldhill Dam. There are 27 campsites with 15 sites offering electrical hook-ups. The campground offers some of the best sunsets on Lake Ashtabula and is located within walking distance of the Mel Rieman Day Use Area. The day use area offers a visitor center, playgrounds, picnic facilities, concessionaire, fishing, and boat landing.
